ALEXANDRIA, VA — Is your high school or college teen looking to learn real-world AI skills? Alexandria’s Hello, EIKO will be sharing the AI playbook at a special bootcamp for teens this summer. Their parents will be invited to an introductory webinar in February.
Founded in 2021, hello EIKO teaches companies how to use AI in their work. This is not done as a flashy experiment, but as an effective process that fits into a real-world workflow. hello EIKO empowers teams to use AI productively, pragmatically, and ethically through consulting and co-construction.

In addition to their success in teaching corporate clients how to use AI, the team at hello EIKO decided to focus on teenagers. Co-founders Kurt Oder and Eve Oder saw their teenage children struggling to understand AI. “They are surrounded by AI, and they are told that AI will change everything,” Eve says. “But we receive almost no guidance on how to use AI responsibly or how to build something meaningful with it.”

This realization led to hello EIKO’s AI for Business Bootcamp, a two-week in-person program where students learn by doing. They work in small teams and partner with real local companies to build AI-powered solutions that can be demonstrated, shared, and talked about on college applications, interviews, and internship conversations. Students do not need a technical background to use AI. All you need is to know how to communicate and use critical thinking skills.
This bootcamp is designed to teach students how to apply generative AI to real-world business problems, with a focus on ethics, practical skills, and measurable outcomes. For parents who are feeling overwhelmed and uninformed, Hello EIKO will be hosting a free webinar on February 25th. The team explains the state of AI, provides practical tactics with real-world examples, and provides tools for parents to guide their teens clearly and confidently. Teens are welcome, but the goal is to help parents guide them through this change.
Hello, EIKO ran a pilot program with teens last fall with a simple goal: to create with AI and tackle real-world problems, not just watch tutorials. Over eight days, Kurt partnered with Arlington’s Wakefield High School to coach a small team and build the school’s public chatbot. He knew they were onto something special when one of his students called from a Friday night football game and said, “I think the chatbot is up, can you check?” The teens were excited to create something authentic that could be used by the community.

The feedback was enthusiastic and encouraging. “By working with real clients, I was able to hone my presentation skills, learn to think like a builder, and see my ideas turn into real-world solutions,” said Cooper, a freshman at UVA. His friend and classmate Ben agreed. “Working on the chatbot project taught me how real product development is done. I carried that experience into my college essay and listed it as a major extracurricular on Common Apps.”
