Adobe upgrades Premiere and After Effects with new AI features

AI Video & Visuals

Video professionals now have access to advanced AI capabilities for editing, motion graphics, and visual storytelling across Adobe’s platforms.

Ahead of Sundance, we announced new AI-powered upgrades for video creators, expanding tools in Premiere, After Effects, and Firefly Boards. This update, introduced by Adobe, aims to streamline post-production, improve collaboration, and give you more creative control.

Premiere now offers AI-assisted object selection, redesigned shape masks, and tight integration with Firefly Boards. Editors can brainstorm ideas, explore visuals, and move assets into workflows using AI models from Adobe, Google, OpenAI, and more.

After Effects also includes major updates, including native 3D parametric meshes, access to over 1,300 Substance 3D materials, vector workflow improvements, and expanded variable font animation tools. Additional features are designed to support more advanced motion design and visual storytelling.

Alongside the product upgrades, Adobe announced $10 million in additional funding through the Film & TV Fund to support emerging filmmakers in underserved communities. New partners include Rideback RISE and Dimz Inc., and existing collaborations will continue.

According to the Sundance Institute, 85% of films submitted to festivals in 2026 were created using Creative Cloud tools. Adobe said it will continue to invest in AI-driven workflows, specialized training, and industry partnerships to support the next generation of storytellers.
