AI Video & Visuals

More generic AI options are coming into the Adobe ecosystem. Starting today, the company has announced that the latest video model of Luma AI, Ray3, is now available for use in the app. Here you can generate videos and use them to explore other creative concepts on Firefly boards.

Adobe partners with Luma AI to become Ray3's first launch partner, reporting that Firefly customers will have early access to the model ahead of a wider public release. Therefore, for the next two weeks, Ray3 will be available on the Firefly app and Luma AI's Dream Machine Platform.

If this sounds like something you're interested in exploring, here's what you need to know about this announcement from Adobe.

Ray3 will be coming to Adobe Firefly

So, what's interesting about this news is that Adobe is doubled its attitude of allowing Firefly and making other apps partners or hosts of other generation AI models. This allows Adobe to focus more on apps rather than just chasing AI technology.

Luma AI's Ray3 promises that users can generate high-quality video clips up to 10 seconds, with more realism and control than previous models.

“Ray3 is built with the Center's filmmakers, storytellers and creators, and this integration with Adobe Firefly brings together Adobe's Creative App Ecosystem and Ray3 intelligence to imagine professional grade quality and control for creators. – Amit Jain, CEO and co-founder of Luma AI

It is also set to be one of the first video AI models to support native high dynamic range (HDR). This helps the model provide richer contrast, deeper shadows, and brighter highlights of more professional professional grade formats.

Furthermore, since Ray3 is built on a new multimodal inference system, the model should be able to better understand the creative intent of the user and provide production-ready assets in a wide variety of complex situations. Adobe should be able to share these assets with motion blues, crowds, crowds, preserved anatomy, physics simulation, world realization, etc.

Overall, the main market for this technology appears to be content creators who can quickly generate Broll or background footage to help fill the gaps in short form videos. It can also be used by filmmakers and producers with fireflies boards to aid in storyboards and visual orientation.

As mentioned above, this update was announced today, and if you're interested, you can try out Ray3 in today's Firefly app. Adobe offers to help stakeholders get started Unlimited generation using Ray3 For customers with paid Fireflies or Creative Cloud Pro plans (available until October 1st).
