Adobe has opened a public beta of Firefly AI Assistant within Adobe Firefly, adding a chat-based creative agent to AI Studio. This feature is rolling out globally and is available to users of Creative Cloud Pro and paid Firefly plans (including Pro, Pro Plus, and Premium tiers).
Firefly AI Assistant is built to turn text instructions into multi-step creative workflows across Adobe apps. Users can write their output in natural language, and the Assistant coordinates the tools they need between Firefly, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and other Creative Cloud apps.
This system utilizes Adobe’s Creative Agent technology. You can handle tasks like converting product photos into social media assets, creating moodboards from briefs, adjusting headshots, preparing product mockups, creating social media variations, and performing batch edits.
This assistant gives users access to over 60 pro-grade tools such as generative fill, autotone, background removal, vectorization, presets, and more. Supports creation and editing of photos, videos, and entire design assets.
A key part of the update is workflow visualization. Adobe says users can step through the process, adjust results, redirect the assistant, and take manual control at any time. Completed files can be saved directly to Creative Cloud storage and used across Adobe apps.
Adobe also shared an example of how to use the Assistant. Social media creators can upload one image and request an Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook-friendly version that maintains the main composition but adjusts the crop and layout. Designers can upload logos and packaging images and have an assistant place the design on the product by adjusting scale, lighting, placement, and perspective. You can use follow-up prompts to fine-tune the final result.
Adobe is also working on bringing its creative agent capabilities to third-party AI platforms such as Anthropic’s Claude. The company says this will allow users to access Adobe tools within an external AI environment. During the public beta period, eligible users will receive daily updated generated credits to use with Firefly AI Assistant.
