Artificial intelligence is invading every aspect of our lives.
If you’re looking for a new job, AI can help you prepare for interviews. In our cars, AI bots like Siri have made it much easier to use our voice to get directions and text messages. They will drive for us soon. I’m strongly against having AI bots write articles, but I’m amazed at how efficient it is. Especially when it comes to writing social media posts that feel like there’s a human behind the words.
In a recent chat at Meta headquarters, Mark Zuckerberg echoed the sentiments of many tech experts that AI could have a fundamental impact on this decade. And, perhaps to the surprise of no one in attendance, he announced that Meta has some ingenious plans for AI.
“Last year, we saw some really incredible breakthroughs in generative AI, qualitative breakthroughs that allowed us to adopt that technology, move it forward, and do everything We have had the opportunity to incorporate it into our products,” Zuckerberg said at the meeting, according to CNBC. “We intend to play a significant and unique role in the industry in bringing these capabilities to billions of people in new ways that others have not.”
What caught my attention is that AI might be used to alter social media posts. I imagined how this would work, but Zuckerberg didn’t share the details, so here’s the theory. Suppose you took a picture and posted it on his Instagram feed. Later, you may request changes using built-in AI capabilities that are part of your app. You can also use the text interface to ask Instagram to brighten up your photo or add a big smile to your face.
Facebook lets you do more extensive text prompts, like adding a bright, sunny sky to the background of all your vacation photos. It turns out that AI can also help organize social media posts. We may ask the bot to look for negative comments and delete them, or scan your feeds and clean them up for inaccuracies.
If you can talk to a chatbot, you might be able to ask it to make a series of posts or automate your schedule in some way. In my case as a book author, I entered the entire book into the interface and asked the AI bot to come up with a long series of quotes summarizing each chapter, including some excerpts, and automatically find and suggest similar books. and may ask you to generate graphics. You can also get my point across and find other followers who may have the same interests as me when it comes to productivity. Meanwhile, I was lounging in my deck chair.
The great thing about these features is that we expect them to be built into the app and easily accessible. Instead of using filters to make your photos look better, you can also ask the app to always give your photos a certain look. For videos, we may ask the AI bot to add a song in the background, add filler stock footage, or otherwise improve the video.
I am excited about this possibility. Because what bothers me now about social media is the repetition. It’s time consuming and a bit tedious.
With something completely new to offer, you might even decide to stick with the app longer and refocus your efforts on growing your follower count.
All we have for now is a few tips from corporate meetings, but it sounds like AI could help social media get out of its current slump.
