EY Korea establishes AI center: “Accelerate internalization of technology”

AI For Business

Support from strategy formulation to technology verification and service introduction

EY Korea has established an organization dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen its AI competitiveness.

On June 8, EY Korea announced the launch of the EY AI Center, an organization specializing in physical AI, with the aim of promoting company-wide AI strategies and strengthening technological capabilities. The company explains that as a measure to strengthen its AI competitiveness, it has built a physical organization to oversee company-wide AI strategies, based on the virtual EY AI Hub.

The center is led by Suyeon Kim, Partner and former Head of AI Business at EY Consulting and EY Asia Pacific AI Leader. Dr. Kim received his PhD in computer engineering from Seoul National University and is currently a member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ AI Expert Advisory Committee. She was recently appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for EY Asia Pacific. Under her leadership, EY Korea also hired a number of AI engineers.

This center will serve as a command center connecting and coordinating AI activities across all business units. We will work closely with each business division to support everything from strategy formulation and proof-of-concept (PoC) testing to service deployment for AI business opportunities identified within each division. The center will also conduct advanced research and development.

It will also act as a global hub for leveraging AI assets and pursue new collaboration opportunities, such as partnering with EY Global’s physical AI research lab.

Yongkeun Park, CEO of EY Korea, said, “As AI business opportunities expand rapidly, there is a growing need for an organization that can not only foster collaboration between business units, but also implement company-wide initiatives and accelerate market response.” “The launch of the EY AI Center is the company’s strategic investment to further advance its collaboration framework, strengthen real-world business execution and go-to-market (GTM) competitiveness, and establish an enterprise-wide execution foundation,” he emphasized.
