This training was intended to strengthen the committee’s ability to develop clear, consistent, and visually appealing communication materials to support broader organizational communication efforts.

The program introduced participants to a practical approach to using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Canva for visual content development. This session combined technical guidance with application examples relevant to the work of election management bodies.

Participants considered how to structure prompts for image generation, including defining key elements such as subject matter, context, style, and level of detail, and how these parameters influence the quality and relevance of the visuals produced.

The training also covered how to use Canva to create and adjust visual materials, including working with templates and applying your organization’s branding elements such as colors, fonts, and visual identity.

Much of the session was spent on hands-on exercises, with participants developing their own visual aids, testing different approaches to driving design, and exploring ways to adapt AI-generated content for educational institutions.

The discussion also addressed the opportunities and limitations of AI tools, emphasizing the importance of responsible use, critical evaluation of output, and maintaining human oversight in the communication process.

The event was organized within the U-VOTE project implemented by International IDEA in cooperation with the Central Election Commission of Ukraine and with support from Norway.

This training forms part of International IDEA’s broader efforts to help the Central Election Commission of Ukraine strengthen its communication capabilities, adapt to evolving digital tools, and ensure that innovations in the electoral process remain consistent with democratic principles, transparency and accountability.
