Hanwha Vision announced on the 23rd that it has entered into a strategic partnership for technical cooperation with Ambarella, a global AI semiconductor company.
Ambarella is an American chipmaker that develops AI processing chips used in surveillance cameras, self-driving cars, robots, and drones.
Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on the development of AI video security technologies, including next-generation system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.
The partnership is expected to create advanced AI video security solutions by combining HanwhaVision’s video processing technology and Ambarella’s AI capabilities.
Additionally, as Hanwha Group is currently in the process of establishing a new holding company and demerging the company, this alliance is expected to create positive synergies between Hanwha Group’s Tech Solutions and Life Solutions divisions.
Hanwha’s technology departments, including Hanwha Vision, are exploring ways to apply AI video analysis technology to life solutions operations such as health and safety management and customer pattern analysis.
“We are pleased to partner with Ambarella, which has achieved great results in the AI semiconductor market based on its strong technological capabilities,” said Kim Dong-sung, vice president and head of future vision at Hanwha Vision. “Let’s lead the global market together through continuous technological innovation through diverse collaboration.”
