adobe has forged a multi-year strategic partnership with generative AI video company Runway. Adobe will serve as Runway's preferred API creativity partner, giving customers early access to Runway's latest models, including Runway's new Gen-4.5. This is currently only available on Adobe Firefly and Runway platforms. The two companies will work together to develop new AI innovations available exclusively in Adobe applications.
“As AI transforms video production, professionals are turning to Adobe's creative ecosystem, from Firefly to Premiere to After Effects, to imagine, craft, and scale their stories across every screen,” said Ely Greenfield, Adobe's chief technology officer and senior vice president of digital media. “Combining Runway's generative video innovation with Adobe's trusted professional workflows will help creators and brands expand their creative possibilities and meet the growing demands of modern content and media production.”
“We are building AI tools that redefine creativity, storytelling, and entertainment, with Gen 4.5 being the latest example,” added Cristóbal Valenzuela, co-founder and CEO of Runway. “This partnership will bring our latest generative video technology to more storytellers within Adobe's creative tools, which are already the industry standard for many creators around the world.”
Creators can use Gen-4.5 to direct complex multi-element scenes with precise composition, realistic physics, and expressive characters. Creative professionals can bring their generation into Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other Creative Cloud applications for even more control and refinement.
