A reverse image search for keyframes from a viral video led us to an X post by IANS dated December 11, 2025. You can see that watermark in the viral clip.
In the original post, Lieutenant General Virendra Vats is quoted as saying, “Drones are going to play an important role in our economy. Close analysis of the viral video revealed unnatural and forced lip movements, indicating possible AI manipulation. When I ran the audio through Resemble AI, it was flagged as fake. When the same audio was analyzed using the Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector, it was determined that the clip was likely a deepfake.
Moreover, the fact-finding wing of the government's PIB has also clarified that Lt. Gen. Virendra Vats has not made any such statement.
