The video posted on Truth Social begins with a real clip of President Obama, stating that “the president in particular is beyond the law.” This is a quick contrast to other Democratic leaders, including Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, saying “no one is beyond the law.”
The video then moves to a fully manufactured AI sequence, ending with an FBI agent raiding the White House, handcuffing Obama and a former president dressed in an orange jumpsuit inside a prison cell.
Tulsi Gabbard's accusation
The release comes days after Obama-era officials accused Obama-era officials of coordinating “rebellious conspiracy” during the 2016 election, made a criminal referral to the Department of Justice, and the Director of the National Intelligence provided a criminal referral to the Department of Justice.
According to Gabbard, the 114-page declassified, edited email shows an “engineering intelligence report assessment” to create a story of Russian interference that helps Obama's national security team help Trump win. She argues that the operation was “intended to destroy the will of the American people.”
“No matter how strong it is, everyone involved must be charged,” Gabbard wrote in X.
Trump praised Gabbard, replied by calling her findings “unrefutable evidence” and labeling Obama the “mastermind” behind what he called “the crime of the century.”
Obama's treason crime
At an oval office press conference with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday, Trump pointed directly to his predecessor.
“If you read the paper, Obama started it. He adjusted it. Biden, Comey, Clapper, Brennan, they were all in the room. “Barack Hussein Obama, have you ever heard of him? Guilt. That's not a question anymore.”
“They tried to equip the election, but they were captured. They then pretended to be an election in 2020. I knew I won that election in a landslide. I had it for the third time and won by a big margin. All swing states won by votes.
The president is said to support his claim, adding that “thousands” of additional documents will soon be released.
However, legal experts should note that no formal accusations have been filed against Obama, nor have the DOJ confirmed any active investigation into the former president.
AI video quickly went viral, with “Arrest Obama” tilting at X, and public debate over the ethical limitations of synthetic media in politics. Media Watchdog and Fact Checkers quickly labeled the video as manipulated content, warning that it could be putting public opinion at risk.
“This deepfark is at its worst political disinformation,” said Nina Jankowich, a fraudulent analyst and former executive director of the US Disonformation Governance Committee. “It undermines public trust, reputation, and poses a serious threat to democratic stability.”
Platforms like Meta, X and YouTube have committed to flag or remove synthetic content that misleads voters, but enforcement is inconsistent.
Despite Trump's allegations of guilt, full legal scholars have confirmed that he has not been charged with Barack Obama, and the material cited by Gabbard has not yet been publicly or legally reviewed.
