01.AI and AgiBot enter into strategic partnership

Gasgoo Munich – According to a statement from the AI ​​developer, 01.AI signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with general-purpose AI robotics company AgiBot on April 17th. The agreement will see the companies expand into the global enterprise market by combining their strengths in enterprise agents and embodied intelligence.

Founded in May 2023 in Beijing by Kai-Fu Lee, 01.AI is an AI 2.0 company.

Since its inception, the company has deployed a series of open source models. In November 2023, we released a Yi-34B pre-trained model with 200K context windows, which topped the HuggingFace open source leaderboard. This was followed in March 2024 by the Yi-9B model, which is famous for its coding ability. By May of the same year, the company introduced the closed-source Yi-Large with over 100 billion parameters, and in October launched Yi-Lightning, a lightweight flagship model ranked 6th in the world. These models can be accessed through Alibaba Cloud’s ModelScope community and APIs on the Bailian platform, in parallel with the company’s Wanzhi AI work platform.

On the financial front, 01.AI achieved unicorn status with a valuation of over $1 billion just eight months after its launch. In 2024, it secured hundreds of millions of dollars in a Series A round backed by international strategic investors and a Southeast Asian consortium. Looking to the future, the company will establish a joint industrial large model laboratory with Alibaba Cloud in 2025.

By 2025, the company has introduced an enterprise-level agent called “Super Employee Wanzai” to build AI solutions that span sectors such as government and finance.
