Zendaya has responded to her AI-generated wedding photos going viral by releasing a fake video of her reception.
The actress poked fun at the situation on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday, telling host Jimmy Kimmel that “a lot of people are being fooled” by fake images featuring her and her fiancé, Tom Holland.
“I was out, just like in real life, and people were like, ‘Oh my gosh, your wedding photos look amazing,'” the “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” actress said. “And I thought, ‘Baby, they’re AI. They’re not real.'”
When Kimmel asked if anyone close to her was upset that she was fooled by an AI-generated photo and was not invited to her planned wedding, Zendaya exclaimed indignantly, “Yes!”
However, Zendaya decided to partake in the AI’s stupidity and later released what appeared to be footage from her own wedding. In reality, it was a clip from her new movie, The Drama, with Holland’s face edited onto co-star Robert Pattinson’s face.
“I don’t get it. What should I say before I watch this video?” Kimmel asked before the clip played. Zendaya then replied: [it’s] Just to clear up some confusion…I’m showing you this for the first time. ”
“In many ways, it’s like a scene from a movie,” Kimmel said with a laugh. “And it looks like someone just crudely stuck Tom’s head on top of Robert’s head.”
“No, that was real footage,” Zendaya cheekily doubled down. “It was real. I was there.” Watch late night below.
Rumors of Zendaya and Holland’s marriage began after Zendaya’s longtime stylist Law Roach told reporters at the 2026 Actor’s Awards when asked for an update on the wedding, saying, “I missed it.”
Roach then avoided a direct question about a wedding at the 2026 Oscars, telling one reporter, “No, I said what I said,” when asked if she wanted to clarify her earlier statements.
At another point on the red carpet, he ignored the wedding question altogether and instead talked about Chanel shoes.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs weekdays at 11:35 pm ET on ABC.
