Wipro Plans to Invest $1 Billion in AI Business

Wipro has pledged to invest $1 billion over the next three years in advancing its AI capabilities.
Wipro ai360Wipro, a leading technology services and consulting company, also launched Wipro ai360 to reach more customers for AI business.

Accenture recently announced plans to invest $3 billion to enhance its AI capabilities for enterprise customers.

“The emergence of generative AI is expected to bring about fundamental changes in every industry. New business models, new ways of working and even new challenges. Wipro’s ai360 ecosystem will bring responsible AI operations to all AI operations. We are at the heart of our business,” said Thierry Delaporte, CEO of Wipro.

At Wipro ai360, 30,000 Wipro experts in data analytics and AI will bring together Wipro’s technology and advisory ecosystem from four global business units.

Wipro’s Innovation Hub Lab45 will be a core part of the Wipro ai360 ecosystem, providing clients with the talent, training, scale, research and co-innovation capabilities needed to accelerate AI adoption.

$1 billion investment will advance Wipro’s AI, data and analytics capabilities and infrastructure, R&D and platform, power FullStride Cloud, and help clients adapt to change and unlock new value through AI Contribute to building new consulting functions.

Wipro will accelerate investment in startups through Wipro Ventures. In addition, the company will launch his GenAI Seed Accelerator program to provide select GenAI-focused startups with the training they need to be enterprise-ready.

Wipro will train all 250,000 employees in AI fundamentals and responsible use of AI over the next 12 months, as well as more customized training programs for employees in AI-specific roles. We will continue to provide ongoing training.

Wipro will develop a curriculum that plans AI initiatives for different roles. After completing the curriculum, employees are qualified through the Decentralized Identity & Credential Exchange (DICE) identity platform.

Wipro will also run hackathons and challenges on its talent cloud platform, TopCoder, to continuously upskill its employees.
