Claim:President Trump has accused India of floods that destroyed Pakistan.
fact:The claim is false. Virus videos are operated using AI.
Pakistan has evacuated more than a million people (reported here and here) from the Punjab farming belt as the region is suffering from the worst flooding in 40 years. Experts and officials attribute the fatal floods that have destroyed hundreds of villages and killed hundreds to a combination of climate change, poor urban planning and overwhelming drainage systems.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump's video has been circulated on social media, and is said to show that he is denounced India for the floods in Pakistan.
In the video, Trump said, “News News Flood in Pakistan. Let me tell you the truth. I won't tell you the truth like me. Climate is not the only terrible floods, destruction and tragedy in Pakistan. India. through the Ravi, through Chenab. Everybody knows it, but nobody says it. I am saying it. Pakistan is suffering. Villages underwater, families displaced, children crying, innocent people losing homes, losing crops, losing everything. And why? Because of reckless water releases by India. This is not cooperation. This is not friendship. This is sabotage. This is a crime against humanity, and I will say very clearly that the world must hold India accountable. Nobody should ever weapon.
X users say, “When India releases water, Pakistan owns. When India holds it down, Pakistan becomes dry. Pakistan is always sinking or not thirsty.” (Archives)

Fact check
Newsmeters have found that the claims are false because the video is being manipulated using AI.
Did the media report on Trump's accusation of India of Pakistan's flooding?
Trump conducted keyword searches on Trump, where he blames floods in Pakistan, but found no reliable reports. If the US president had publicly called on India, it would have been widely reported by reputable news outlets.
Video contradiction
At one point in the video, it is said that Trump said, “If you want to help, if you want to stand with Pakistan during this difficult time, I'll comment below.” Why does the US President ask for comment on social media posts to support Pakistan? This gave me the first clue that the video is a malicious work of AI manipulation.
Video source
An inverse image search for viral clip keyframes led to an original video of more than a minute published by Forbes Breaking on May 31, 2025, titled “Breaking the majority of the agreement.”
In the video, Trump talks about China's breach of trade agreements, the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, and its deal with Iran. However, we did not find him talking about India causing floods in Pakistan.
We also compared keyframes from the virus and the original video and found that they were identical.
Further investigation revealed that the Forbes video clip came from a joint press conference held by Trump in his oval office with Elon Musk, marking Musk's tenure as a special government employee leading the Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The press conference was live streamed on CNBC TV on May 30, 2025.
Key topics include foreign policy issues such as government cost-cutting measures, future tariffs, praise for Musk reforms, China's violation of trade agreements, Israeli Hama ceasefire, and the Russian-Cleine conflict. Trump also spoke about India and Pakistan, saying his administration has prevented two countries from engaging in conflicts that could escalate into nuclear disasters. He expressed his gratitude to the leaders and people of both countries for their cooperation.
But we didn't think Trump was denounced the floods in Pakistan.
Tool Results
The audio in the video was analyzed using the AI detection tool Deepfake-O-Meter. Of the four detectors, one was classified as likely to generate AI with a 100% reliability score, while the other three flagged AI with a reliability score above 90%.
Clarification of PIB
On August 30, the PIB FactCheck X Handle revealed that “the President of the United States has not issued such a statement.” The post said that the virus clip is a deep-fark video generated by AI.
Thus, Trump's virus clip concludes that he blames India for the floods in Pakistan.
