When Peli Kana Chicken’s advertising video created using artificial intelligence (AI) caused controversy for glorifying adultery and provocative production, the video was deleted and an official apology was issued.
On the 9th, Pelicana apologized on her official Instagram account, saying, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the recently uploaded content.”
“The content was posted without due consideration to the appropriateness of expression and social recognition during the production process, and it caused discomfort and concern to many people.”
“At this time, we have deleted the post in question and are taking the situation seriously,” Perikana said, adding, “We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
“Going forward, we will scrutinize the entire content planning and inspection process and work to prevent similar incidents from occurring through more careful standards and internal inspection processes,” he said.
The controversial video showed a seasoned chicken baby being born between a fried chicken couple. Fried Chicken’s husband gets angry and asks, “Is this the son of the ‘male friend’ who came to the wedding?”
This is followed by a scene in which the wife shares a kiss with a veteran chicken man, followed by a scene in which Pelican, a female doctor, seduces her husband, who is drinking alone, with the intention of “getting revenge.”
Netizens criticized it as a caricature, saying, “It’s neither funny nor moving, it’s just unpleasant.” This advertisement is known to be a parody of the AI video “Strawberry Girl” content that became a hot topic on the internet.
