(October 6, 2025, 06:31 GMT | Official Statement) – MLEX Summary: Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology has released a draft law on artificial intelligence for public comments. The Nine Chapter Bill aims to promote research and ethical use of AI while protecting public rights and national security. Applies to all AI activities in Vietnam, classifying AI systems at four risk levels. The high-risk system covers sectors such as education, transportation, finance, recruitment, justice and energy. The public consultations will run until October 20th, when the 10th session of the Parliament begins and the draft is scheduled for discussion. A draft method (in Vietnamese) is attached.
