JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy has said that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology is helping micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) expand the market scope.
Creative Economy Minister Tewcliffe Kihersia said in a statement on Saturday that adoption of technology, including AI, is a strategic step towards creating a resilient, innovative and adaptive creative economy ecosystem.
“AI is not only a way of introducing new tools to technology, but also in creative economy players to enhance creativity, efficiency and product competitiveness. With digital proficiency, MSME is expected to penetrate a wider market without losing the identity of Indonesia's creation,” he said.
Dandy Yudha Feryawan, director of new digital technology at the province, added that AI can serve as a practical tool to enhance the talent capabilities of the creative economy, but the creativity and originality of business actors remains a major focus.

“We hope through Claire Eye, Depock's city creative economy actors will be more prepared and competitive in adopting AI technology.
Training participants were creative economy actors in the cooking, craft and fashion subsectors, with training sessions that included mentoring and demonstrations from local AI startups.
According to the province, over 90% of MSMEs in Indonesia have yet to optimize their AI use. Through Kreasiai, participants were taught how to create product photos and promotional videos, develop branding strategies, and understand the four-step originality test to avoid copyright infringement.
