Maharashtra-based Pune District Central Cooperative Bank (PDCC Bank) recently collaborated with Krishi Vighan Kendra (KVK) of Bharamati, to organize a special awareness programme on the topic “Use of Artificial Intelligence in Sugarcane Agriculture.”
The event aims to highlight the role of emerging technologies in modern agriculture, particularly in improving sugarcane cultivation practices.
The session was attended by several senior PDCC Bank officials, including Chief Manager Sanjay Sijigan and Deputy Managers Kadam, Hegde and Jadhav. They highlighted the bank's commitment to supporting farmers by promoting not only financial services but also knowledge sharing platforms that promote innovation.
Experts at the event explained how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to monitor crop health, predict yields, optimize irrigation, and reduce input costs. They also featured real-time examples and success stories from pilot projects in which AI applications have led to measurable improvements in productivity and sustainability.
The program has received positive responses from local farmers and stakeholders, highlighting the need for ongoing efforts to integrate technology into traditional farming methods for better outcomes.
