The London startup emerged from stealth on April 7th with a multi-layered agent security solution and a seed round backed by LocalGlobe and Cambridge Innovation Capital. Co-founders include a Cambridge University professor who was previously Amazon’s director of machine learning.
Torrent AIis a London-based agent security company that has come out of stealth after raising a $13 million seed round. This round was led by local globe and Cambridge Innovation CapitalAngel investors including Joaquín Quiñonero Candela, a member of OpenAI’s technical staff, participated. Avinash Bhat, AWS Director. Ippokratis Pandis, Distinguished Engineer at Databricks. and Tony Jebara, former VP of Engineering and Head of AI/ML at Spotify.
The company was founded in 2025 and will go public on April 7, 2026.
Trent AI targets a structural gap that has widened as enterprises deploy autonomous AI agents faster than they can adapt their security frameworks. The company’s product is a multi-agent security platform purpose-built for agent environments, rather than traditional static-rule security tools modified for AI.
It works through four specialized agents that run continuously and in parallel. Identify risks by scanning agents that observe code, infrastructure, dependencies, and runtime behavior.

Determine which agents to classify and prioritize signals based on actual business impact, rather than predefined rules. Mitigating agents patch vulnerabilities and automatically validate fixes. We also evaluate agents by tracking risk trends over time and benchmarking them against standards.
Feedback loops between these layers are designed to improve accuracy with each subsequent cycle.
The founding team is intentionally structured around a combination of academic depth and operational scale. CEO Eno Thereska previously served as a Distinguished Engineer at Alcion (acquired by Veeam), AWS, and Confluent. Co-founder Neil Lawrence is DeepMind Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge and former Director of Machine Learning at Amazon.
The third co-founder, Zhenwen Dai, is a machine learning scientist at AWS and a senior research manager at Spotify. A Deloitte study cited by Trent AI found that while 74% of enterprises plan to deploy agent AI within two years, only 21% report a mature governance model for autonomous agents, explicitly designed to address this gap.
Design partners such as Canopy, Commcentre, ML@Cam, Qbeast, and Weblogic are already running the platform. Trent AI is a partner member. Owaspthe Open Worldwide Application Security Project, and a startup partner of Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab Venture Network.
This product also includes an open source security agent for OpenClaw. Saul Klein, co-founder and executive chairman of Phoenix Court, home of LocalGlobe, described the moment this way: “Now is the perfect time to build a long-term foundation for agent system security.”
