Topaz Labs, the developer of AI-powered editing tools like Gigapixel AI and Photo AI, has announced Video AI Pro, which the company says is aimed at teams and enterprise clients and is “the first commercially available AI video enhancement tool for enterprise creative teams.”
It's a bold claim, but they also offer single-user accounts with features like multi-GPU rendering and commercial use of files the application generates. Multi-GPU rendering offers a performance boost that may be worth the purchase for some users.
Video AI Pro – Not your ordinary Video AI
Topaz Labs Video AI is not a new application. It has been around for a while and is very popular. This application does a very good job in terms of fulfilling a need, probably better than any application I have seen so far. The big downside is that it is quite slow.
Even fairly high-end GPUs are often only able to produce a maximum of a few frames per second when upsampling 1080p to 4K, for example. The new Video AI Pro solves this problem by offering multi-GPU support and more.
Video AI Pro supports all the major ones when it comes to GPUs: Nvidia, AMD, and Intel are all supported, and Topaz Labs doesn't specify exactly which cards it supports, but says that GPUs should be as closely matched as possible to each other.
Ideally, this means identical cards. Or similar cards within the same series (for example, all RTX 4000 series). Try not to mix series, even within the same brand, and definitely don't mix brands. The most important thing to match is probably RAM, as software that uses multiple GPUs will typically limit all GPUs to the amount of RAM on the lowest card.
Subscriptions are not permanent
Now, there's one big difference between the company's Video AI application and the new Video AI Pro: the pricing structure. Video AI is a one-time fee for a perpetual license to a specific version of the software. Video AI Pro is an annual subscription. And it's not cheap.
However, the extra cost offers great value for those who need it. Of course, you get multi-GPU support for faster rendering, as well as the use of seat management. The Pro version also allows commercial use of clips created with the software.

For many users today, these features aren't really necessary and the regular Video AI app is sufficient. Of course, multi-GPU support would be nice, but that alone may not be worth the cost of “Pro” for most smaller creators. However, for many studios and larger teams, it will be worth it.
Price and availability
Topaz Labs Video AI Pro is currently offered in three subscription levels: A Video AI Pro Individual license costs $1,099 per year. Video AI Pro Teams starts at $4,999 per year for teams of five or more. The third level is Video AI Pro Enterprise, which is a no-brainer.
