An AI-generated video featuring popular celebrities, from Taylor Swift to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurundar avatar to Vijay Mallya to Donald Trump, has gone viral online, raising new alarms about how easily reality can be fabricated.
The 23-second clip, created by YouTuber Ishan Sharma and posted on X and Instagram, shows him seamlessly transforming into AI-made versions of celebrities including Nirmala Sitharaman, Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Mallya, Donald Trump and Ranveer Allahabadia, warning viewers that they can no longer trust what they see online.
“Hello everyone. This is a reminder that you can no longer trust what you see on social media,” the video begins, with each change arriving with eerie realism.
Sharma’s script conveys the message in Trump’s voice: “I can change your face, age, gender, and even voice without you knowing.”
“Right now we don’t even record this video. It’s all AI,” he said. He said the entire clip was generated using AI.
He concluded with a warning: “Please be careful and send this video to your friends.”
The post, captioned “We’re so cooked!”, exploded across social platforms, fueling debate about the misuse of deepfakes, misinformation, and the urgent need for guardrails around AI.
One comment read: “That demo was wild. It shows why source verification is important in AI videos.”
“It’s getting scary and wild. I wonder what steps will be taken in the future to distinguish the fake from the real thing,” another wrote.
One user commented: “Everyone be careful!!! Please tell your parents and elders to be careful!!! Scams are having a negative impact on people.”
