Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank uses Oracle Fusion

Applications of AI

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB), one of India’s oldest private banks, uses Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to support its mission to provide technology-driven, efficient, and ethical banking services. TMB used Oracle Fusion Applications for Finance, Human Resources, and Customer Experience to unify core operations and leverage AI to automate processes, increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve employee and customer experiences.

Founded in 1921, TMB currently serves over 5.6 million customers across India, with over 600 branches and 5,000 employees. In a rapidly evolving and competitive digital banking environment, TMB needed to move from legacy systems to a scalable cloud platform to accelerate automation and efficiency to accommodate growth. After careful evaluation, TMB decided to migrate its finance, human resources, and customer experience processes to Oracle Fusion Applications.

Sally S. Nair, Managing Director and CEO of Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank, said, “As we reimagined the way we operate and serve our customers, we realized we needed a modern, agile and intelligent foundation.” “Oracle Fusion Applications helped us build an AL-powered foundation to integrate systems, automate key business processes, improve insights, and enhance operations. Oracle’s built-in AI and quarterly updates allow us to scale efficiently and better serve our customers.”

TMB uses Oracle Fusion Applications to standardize finance, human resources, and customer experience in a single integrated suite. Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) enables TMB to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve financial management, while Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) improves employee experience and expands employee insights. For example, AI agents like the Vacation Leave Policy Advisor Agent provide real-time personalized guidance to TMB employees, helping them adhere to company leave policies and reducing administrative burden. Additionally, Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience (CX) has helped TMB improve sales efficiency and enhance customer service.

“As customer expectations continue to evolve, established banks need to modernize the way they do business while preserving the trust and relationships built over decades,” said Shailesh Singla, vice president, Cloud Applications, Oracle India. “TMB uses Oracle Fusion Applications to leverage embedded AI to streamline finance, HR, sales, and service, increase productivity, and improve the employee and customer experience. This is an example of how AI can confidently evolve a venerable organization into the AI era.”
