This handy AI audio recorder has changed the way I work (and is easy to use)

In the world of audio recording apps and devices, it's almost the same old. Click or tap Record, start talking, stop speaking, or click Save. Some audio recording apps run basic transcripts (the Pixel Recording App does impressive jobs). You can share notes, change playback speeds, and provide other (pretty basic) features.

But the town has a new device that wants to demonstrate how audio recordings can be even more.

The device in question is praise.

Although we probably never heard of praise, they created the best audio recorder on the market.

Plaud Note is a slim (almost credit card size) device that allows you to record audio messages at the click of a button. Once the recording is complete, the files will automatically sync with the mobile app (Android, iOS) and here you will get some pretty flashy magic. Praise notes are summarized using AI, not only transcribing recordings into text.

My experience

When I first received my Plaud Note device, I was like, “Why does everyone need this when there is a perfectly good voice recorder on my phone?” And everyone has a phone, so everyone has a voice recorder.

The note sat on my desk for about a week and asked me to experience all of its glory, but I refrained from doing so as my initial opinion was certain it was a device that was not worthy of reviews.

But then I surrendered and tried it on Plaud Note.

It took about 5 minutes for this small device to be absolutely sold. I recorded notes and summarized them with transcripts that are shareable/usable as quickly as standard audio recording apps can produce basic transcriptions.

In other words, Plaud Note proved its usefulness very quickly.

To record a note, make sure the slider is in the down position, press and hold the device's only button, and hold the praise until it vibrates. You can then start recording. I recorded and transcribed some notes and found that the app transcription was just as accurate as an Android recording app. I've created mind maps for different recordings and saw how useful this device/app combo can be for different types of users.

The praise notes are as easy to use as audio recording devices and apps, and this feature really sets it apart from the competition.

The praise notes have another cool trick on the sleeve, but they should be used with caution. Its feature is to record calls. Flip the toggle from the down position to the up position, slip the device into the Magsafe case, and tap the case onto your phone (using the Magsafe case).

Please note that call records are not legal in all states. So, make sure you are allowed to record your phone before you begin. I can't stress that enough. If you want to use this feature, first check if it is legal in your state.

I wanted to record more audio notes in the weeks I used Plaud Note so I could transcribe them and summarise them. As an author, I found it useful because I can record notes about possible books, write down and summarise praise, then save it in Google Docs for later use. And the Plaud Note is so small that I can carry around where I'm going.

This is the problem – and you knew it was coming! – Interval praise The device is priced at a respectable $159 at Plaud.ai. The AI portion of AI (transcription, overview, mind map, etc.) requires paid AI membership. Options can be viewed on the Plaud AI Membership page. Praise is worth offering a price, no matter which way you go. If you're a busy, on-the-go person and need a better way to record audio notes, praise is a great option.
