South Australia’s largest annual event for small businesses returns this August, packed with programs designed to help local businesses grow, adapt and thrive.

Small Business Week 2026, running from August 17 to 21, will bring together entrepreneurs, industry experts, and government representatives for a series of practical workshops, networking opportunities, and business events across the state.

The week kicks off with the Small Business Expo at the Adelaide Convention Center, where attendees can connect with industry experts, discover new resources and hear from keynote speaker and 9News Finance Editor Chris Kohler.

From there, the program covers everything from using artificial intelligence in your business and building your online presence, to hiring staff, understanding commercial leasing, preparing for export and learning how to use the South Australian brand to enhance your marketing.

A special breakfast for women in business on 18 August will feature entrepreneur and leadership expert Dr Gemma Munro, who will share practical advice on building stronger businesses, planning for change and accessing support networks.

One of the biggest highlights of the week, the annual ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on 19 August will once again connect South Australian businesses with government agencies and key industry buyers, giving local businesses the chance to explore procurement opportunities and win new contracts.

Food and wine companies will host dedicated sessions focused on brand strategy, digital marketing, e-commerce and innovation to help producers and hospitality businesses stay competitive.

For those who can’t attend all events in person, a series of on-demand resources will also be available covering topics such as cybersecurity, disaster recovery, energy efficiency, and business diversification. Local success stories from businesses such as Vili’s, Badger Workwear and Coorong Wild Seafood will also be featured throughout the online content.

Minister for Small Business and Family Business Nadia Clancy said: “Small Business Week gives business owners the opportunity to hear from experts, connect with colleagues and focus on decisions that strengthen their resilience and support future growth.”

“This year’s program will target businesses across South Australia’s metropolitan and regional regions. By linking up for the first time with our annual Meet the Buyer event, there will be even more opportunities for businesses to connect with government and industry buyers.”

Small Business Week is delivered by the Department of Small Business and Family Business in partnership with the Small Business Commission SA, industry advocacy groups and consumer and business services as part of South Australia’s 2023-2030 Small Business Strategy.
