Tattile Acquires Comark to Advance Free-Flow Toll Collection Application and AI-Driven System

Applications of AI

Number plate reading and axle counting solutions provider Tattile has announced the acquisition of Comark, an Italian manufacturer of laser-based volumetric vehicle measurement and classification products for toll collection and free-flow toll collection applications.

Tatil said the acquisition will enable it to further optimise traffic flows by speeding up the toll collection process, from reading number plates to counting axles and capturing vehicle volume.

According to the company, these three pieces of information are crucial in determining the vehicle type and total toll fee.

Corrado Franchi, CEO of Tattile, added: “The similarity of our founding values, the same service orientation and our nearly overlapping customer portfolios make this integration a natural step to create new high-performance, high-added-value systems based on the endless opportunities created by AI.”

“We are enthusiastic to become part of Tattile and the TKH Group as we see this as a unique opportunity to ensure Comark's solid growth in international markets and highly innovative joint product development making the most of the core competencies of both companies,” said Federico Vincenzi, founder and owner of Comark.
