Steam now uses 7,800 games using the generation AI, according to the report.

A new report from the entirely human media reveals that nearly 20% of video games released on Steam in 2025 use generated AI.

Totally Human's report recommending games, books, shows and films using machine learning and generative AI reported about 7,818 games with steam disclosed using generative AI. This represents about 7% of the total available steam library. For games released on the platform in 2025, under 20% (about once in 5 games) use or at least disclose AI.

In total, this is an almost 700% increase in games using generative AI with steam, according to a 2024 report on the same theme from Totally Human Media.

In Reddit threads about fully human articles, many commenters said that if a game uses AI, the game will automatically be on the “ignore” list.

“You should tag it to be an ignored category,” one user wrote.

“More and more Steam games are on my ignore list,” another user wrote.

Generally, even commenters who were not completely opposed to AI in the game write that they were turned off by the move.

“Many cool games on Steam Next Fest immediately put me off when they realised they were using Genai.

However, there is a nuance to many steam users.

“It's not surprising in this era.
