Spotify adds deeper integration with AI agents and ‘personal podcasts’

Spotify is launching deeper integration of its AI agent with “personal podcasts” that can be saved to your account with personalized information such as calendar events.

Available starting today on OpenClaw, Claude Code, and OpenAI Codex, Spotify’s “Personal Podcasts” lets AI agents save content directly to users’ libraries.

Spotify explains:

If you’re already using agents like OpenClaw, Claude Code, or OpenAI Codex on your desktop, add the new Save to Spotify beta tool and with a few simple prompts, you can turn your daily digests, class notes, weekend itineraries, and more into personal podcasts that you can save directly to your Spotify library.

The idea here is to have your agent leverage the information you request and data from other sources, such as calendar events, to create a customized podcast for you. This will be saved to your Spotify library, so you can easily access that “personal podcast” from any device later.

Some sample prompts shared by Spotify via email 9to5Google include:

“Pull up your schedule for the day from your calendar and flag anything that’s consecutive or needs preparation. Check your inbox for anything that’s urgent or time-sensitive. Get 2-3 articles in your feed that are worth knowing about today. I’ll also recommend podcasts to listen to on your commute, and keep them under 5 minutes.”

“Create an audio itinerary for your upcoming trip. We’ll summarize your flight details, tell you the best route to the airport, and recommend the best restaurants and menus, shopping, and museums in the area you’re visiting.”

“Create an audio session that delves into World Cup history, including key players, venues, and what you need to know about this year’s game.”

To use it, you’ll need to visit the Save to Spotify CLI on GitHub, sign in to your Spotify account, and connect to your chosen AI agent.

Spotify also announced today that it is expanding DJ functionality to four new languages: French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese, as well as several new countries, including Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, Switzerland, and more.
