South Korea-US physical AI cooperation in full swing—Joint development of AI semiconductor-based products

SPHERE AX, a vision AI and edge AI computing specialist, announced that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Blaize Holdings, Inc., a global AI semiconductor company based in El Dorado Hills, California, USA, to jointly develop and commercialize AI semiconductor-based products with the aim of establishing a leading position in the global physical AI market.

The signing ceremony was held prior to the “Policy Roundtable for Korea-U.S. Physics AI Cooperation and Building an AI Industrial Innovation Ecosystem” held at the National Assembly. The ceremony coincided with ongoing discussions on strengthening the national competitiveness of the AI ​​semiconductor industry and expanding global technological cooperation.

Through this partnership, the two companies plan to explore cooperation in a wide range of areas, including joint research and development in edge AI computing, potential commercialization of AI semiconductor-based solutions, business development opportunities beyond target industries, and joint business development for domestic and international customers.

In particular, this cooperation is important because through this cooperation, both parties intend to combine overseas core semiconductor technology with domestic commercialization to build Korea-based AI products for the world. supply.

Blaize and SPHERE AX will jointly develop next-generation physical AI solutions targeting global markets by combining Blaize’s AI semiconductor technology optimized for physical AI with SPHERE AX’s core software expertise, including vision AI. The jointly developed solutions will be applied to various fields such as smart cities, smart factories, industrial safety, security, robotics, and mobility, and are expected to be a meaningful step towards Korea-US cooperation in the field of physical AI.

Starting with this strategic partnership, the two companies will work toward establishing an AI semiconductor-based product development and production system in South Korea, and by collaborating with the government’s AI semiconductor industry promotion policy and South Korea’s advanced manufacturing industry, they intend to proactively contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of South Korea’s AI semiconductor industry and expanding the global supply chain. Through the partnership with SPHERE AX, Blaize recognizes the company’s technological capabilities and growth potential in the Korean market, and the two companies intend to build a long-term cooperation.
