Users only need to specify their city and province of origin, as well as the combination of gamio scores and subjects obtained during the exam. The AI assistant will generate a breakdown of the different colleges and majors you can apply to.
AI tools remain popular in China’s UNI applications
Many students still rely on AI tools and often ask their peers online for suggestions and recommendations on the best prompts to use when planning their college applications.
On popular social media platforms such as Xiaohonshu, AI bloggers and influencers are also actively sharing tips and recommendations that students can use when applying to universities.
“I feel that the use of AI is more than enough,” said a Xiaohongshu user with the handle Wish Mama, adding that she plans to use AI for college applications.
However, some people heed the warning and caution against relying too much on AI when applying to universities.
“AI tools tend to spew nonsense,” said Qingtian, one of the Xiaohonshu users, admitting that although AI has made things more convenient, the university admissions process is still tedious and requires human input and verification of information.
Another user, Guo Zili, expressed disbelief about people relying on AI tools for university applications.
“AI is just a search tool. You enter your score and it shows you a list of universities,” he said.
“But if you just copy and paste your choices without thinking, you won’t get into any of the schools on your list.”
