The Iranian consulate in Hyderabad on Wednesday shared an AI-generated video mocking US President Donald Trump’s decision to extend a ceasefire “at Pakistan’s request” in the ongoing Iran-related conflict.
The video begins with an AI-generated version of Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance and others waiting at the negotiating table, with no Iranian representative arriving. In the 45-second video, President Trump is seen typing into Truth Social: “We’re having a really great deal with Iran.”
The video then cuts to a meme-like “2000 years from now” sequence, showing an increasingly irritated President Trump threatening to “bomb Iran if they don’t come to negotiations,” before asking, “So where are the Iranians?”
An aide then handed him a note that read, “Shut up, Trump,” and the AI-generated Trump said, “Okay, we’ll extend the ceasefire at Pakistan’s request,” before walking away amid laughter.
The embassy captioned X’s post: “How was the ceasefire extended? Video is going viral in Iran.”
The video was released days after President Trump announced an indefinite extension of the ceasefire with Iran at Pakistan’s request, claiming it would give Iran more time to prepare a unified proposal to end the conflict.
But Iran has expressed uncertainty about a return to talks scheduled for later this week in Pakistan.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Bakaei was quoted by state media as saying that Iran had entered the negotiations in “good faith” but accused the US of showing “neglect and lack of good faith”, adding that Iran had not yet decided whether to attend the next round of talks.
