
The deal comes as advances in AI localization accelerate demand for German-language content on global digital platforms.
Spanish technology company DubMe IO has picked up a German TV movie and scripted series package. think big (Photo) and rocky and the cop. The company plans to run the title through its proprietary AI pipeline to create multilingual versions and distribute it on YouTube in 30 languages.
In parallel, UK-based Content Rocket has licensed German and English TV movies for use on YouTube worldwide, with the exception of a few territories. French distributor Zylo has acquired French rights to some TV movies for release in French-speaking Europe and Africa, and Canal+ Distribution has also acquired YouTube rights to several titles.
Meanwhile, Seven.One Studios International’s factual catalog continues to do well on digital platforms. Australia’s VA Media, Germany’s Quintus Studios and UK-based Little Dot Studios have all secured AVOD rights to factual packages for global distribution, which also include carve-outs. “Digital rights exploitation, especially on YouTube, is a growing business for Seven.One Studios International, especially when it comes to German-language content,” said Tobias Schulze, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Seven.One Studios International. “Historically, the cost of subtitles and dubbing has hindered the distribution of foreign language content to English-speaking markets, but that is changing. As the quality of AI dubbing improves, language will no longer be a barrier.”
