New Delhi: South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) has been selected as one of the 51 organizations shortlisted to participate in the National Conference on Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in the Power Distribution Sector to be held in New Delhi on December 6-7.
The two-day conference, hosted at the Bharat Mandapam and organized by REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, received 195 applications from across the country and SBPDCL secured its place among the top performers recognized for its innovation and technology-driven initiatives in power distribution.

The event brought together government officials and industry leaders, including Power Minister Manohar Lal. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power, New and Renewable Energy; and Power Ministry Secretary Pankaj Agarwal.
Focus on the theme “Using AI and ML for sustainable and reliable power supply” The conference focused on increasing operational efficiency, improving consumer service delivery, and strengthening power grid resilience through advanced digital technologies. Participants shared case studies, pilot project results, and new strategies for AI integration in electricity distribution networks.

SBPDCL said the assessment reflects its efforts to modernize power supply mechanisms and introduce data-driven solutions to reduce losses and improve reliability across South Bihar.
