LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s Human Capabilities Development Program has announced the holding of the third Human Capabilities Initiative Conference, featuring the UK as the Honored Nation.

The HCI will be held from May 3 to 4 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

HCI 2026 is expected to attract more than 15,000 leaders and 250 speakers including policymakers, industry leaders, and experts from a variety of fields.

Under the theme ‘Human Norms’, this program will focus on optimizing learning and working environments to maximize human performance in the age of artificial intelligence.

Yousef bin Abdullah Albeyan, Saudi Minister of Education and Chairman of the HCDP Executive Committee, said the conference will demonstrate the Kingdom’s commitment to investing in human resources and enriching global dialogue for sustainable economic growth.

He added: “In a rapidly changing global landscape, human potential remains the most important driver of progress, and investing in people is the most important pillar in building competitive economies and knowledge-based societies.”

Majid Al Qasabi, Saudi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Economic and Social Committee of the Saudi-UK Strategic Partnership Council, welcomed the UK as an honorable country at the conference.

He said: “[This]represents a continuation of strategic cooperation between[Saudi Arabia and the UK]including the launch of the Future Skills Initiative at the 2025 HCI Conference, with a focus on promoting economic cooperation, educational exchanges and workforce development.”

The past two HCI conferences have attracted more than 23,000 attendees, 550 speakers and 156 partnerships announced, according to organizers.

The HCDP is in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and focuses on increasing the potential and competitiveness of its people, they added.
