AI Foundation Platform (AIFP) is a secure, enterprise-grade AI platform designed to help employees develop and deploy AI-driven solutions that support their daily work.
MTR Corporation is committed to leveraging technology and AI to increase operational efficiency, enhance service excellence, and support our colleagues in their daily work. AIFP provides an agile, managed foundation that enables non-technical business users to transform internal knowledge into AI-powered chatbots while working within MTR’s corporate standards for security, data protection, and responsible use of AI. The platform lowers technical barriers and enables employees closest to business challenges to actively participate in innovation and problem-solving.
In an early application of AIFP, MTR’s cross-functional team collaborated to develop an AI chatbot to enable MTR volunteers to provide support to Hong Kong residents and visitors during the 2025 National Games. The initiative highlighted how employees from different departments can co-create AI solutions that address real-world operational needs.
Development of AIFP began in 2023 when MTR Corporation began exploring the use of generative AI to improve work productivity and address real-world business needs. Employee feedback highlighted the need for a more accessible and user-friendly platform that enables business teams to create AI-enabled solutions without relying heavily on technical development resources. AIFP was designed to meet this need while ensuring scalability, reuse, and strong governance.
