SAP's AI-driven business suite ends the best breeding era

AI For Business

SAP rethinks Joule's role-based assistant and enterprise AI that coordinates agents across the business line

Las Vegas, October 6, 2025 /prnewswire/ – In the first SAP Connect event, SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) shows how AI, data and application integration creates unparalleled business value. These breakthroughs – including a new network of Joule's role-based assistants working with humans to improve performance, a growing data ecosystem that drives deeper insights, and supply chain software that anticipates disruptions – will once again revolutionize how businesses can be accomplished.

“When volatility is a new normal, companies need more than a patchwork of different best bleed applications,” said Muhammad Alam, a member of the SAP SE executive committee of SAP Products and Engineering. “Our announcement today demonstrates the power of the SAP business suite. AI, data and applications come together with experience to drive smarter decisions, faster execution, and scalable transformations.

AI to partner with people

SAP announces the next phase of Joule as an AI force at the heart of value creation for SAP Business Suite. Using applications and data from across SAP Business Suite, SAP introduces a new generation of role assistants at Joule. Each assistant is designed to partner with humans in a specific business role. Joule's assistants tap on the right agents for work and configure, coordinate and manage them so humans can focus on unlocking new levels of insight and productivity.

Supporting Joule Assistant is a specialized Joule Agent growth library designed to help you perform complex workflows within a specific feature. For example, manager assistants will coordinate teams of professional agents, including new people intelligence agents who can help them find and resolve issues such as compensation anomalies, and help them to promote performance. The new Financial Planning Assistant is supported by a group of expert agents, including new cash management agents that optimize cash flows and improve interest yields, helping experts to promote efficiency. This new roster of role-aware AI assistants not only partners with people to improve the performance of your business line, but also works across business functions to solve complex enterprise-wide problems.

Data that is contrary to boundaries

Data promotes the power of AI to convert, but is often silent in different systems. SAP Connect uses SAP Business Data Cloud Connect to remove these barriers. SAP BDC Connect securely links SAP BDCs with partner platforms to enable two-way flow of business-enabled data products across organizational and technology boundaries.

Zero-copy sharing ensures that data is kept firmly in the SAP system, but is readily accessible on the customer's existing data platform, maintaining business context without copying. The result: fewer silos, simpler pipelines, no overlap – only reliable data products where and when needed.

SAP has also announced that Databricks and Google Cloud are the first partners of SAP BDC Connect. As announced in February 2025, SAP Databricks remains a data service within SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP BDC Connect extends its benefits across the open data ecosystem. These partnerships help customers move from raw data to real-time business outcomes with faster speed and simplicity by increasing access to analytics and AI data products.

Applications that turn data into actions

At the heart of SAP's unique value proposition are enterprise applications where data is created and AI-driven insights are experienced. SAP Supply Chain Orchestration is a new AI-Native solution that combines Joule's power with live knowledge graphs to detect real-time risks, allowing several suppliers to coordinate deep, coordinated responses, allowing customers to reduce costs and keep the supply chain running. A new customer experience solution, SAP Engagement Cloud uses business context to personalize interactions between customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. And the next generation of SAP Ariba procurement suite brings intelligence to every step of spend management, from sourcing to supplier engagement, and stands out as an AI-Native solution.

Overall, the innovations in these SAP business suites mark the beginning of a new era of powering by self-enhancing AI, data and applications that drive intelligence, speed and resilience.
