Samsung is dropping AI ads across social channels

After cramming AI into every nook and cranny of its smartphones, appliances and other devices, Samsung is increasingly bashing it on social media. Several videos posted to the company’s YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok accounts in recent weeks have been created or edited using generative AI tools, including the latest teaser for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.

The “Brighten your after hours” video features two people skateboarding at night, presumably showing off the low-light video capabilities of the upcoming Galaxy S26 device. Fine print appears at the bottom of the screen towards the end of the video, indicating that it was “generated with the assistance of an AI tool,” a telltale sign even if it’s not publicly available. For example, a shopping bag full of vegetables looks artificial and unnaturally heavy, and the cobblestones on the road seem out of place.

While most videos include similar AI disclosures within their clips, it’s notable that YouTube and Instagram have not added their own AI labels to their “Brighten After Hours” videos, even though Google, Meta, and Samsung have all adopted C2PA (a credibility standard used in most AI labeling systems).
