The paid sales team raised $21 million in seed rounds, expanding its mission, and assisting companies supporting software to sell artificial intelligence (AI) agents.

The move extends its paying original mission to help builders pay agents, the company said in a blog post on Sunday (September 28).

Public SaaS companies are slowing down as seats are falling as AI agents replace the entire team and customers refuse to pay “per-seat” software to eliminate seats, resulting in slower growth and breaking down their core business models.

“The route is clear, and smart SaaS companies are already selling AI agents,” Shimoni said in a post. “In the early movements, we see revenue growth of 20-40% within six months, with high retention rates and much faster sales cycles.”

For SaaS companies that have not made that transition, Pay offers an infrastructure layer that can help with customer value proof, custom pricing, results, and true cost tracking for each agent, and AI business intelligence, according to the post.

“The SaaS industry is at the biggest inflection point from on-prem to the cloud,” Shimoni said in the post. “Companies that will move to AI agent business models over the next 12 months will dominate the category.

According to the release, Paid's seed round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.

LightSpeed ​​partner Alexander Schmitt said in a blog post on Sunday that the impact and costs of AI agents cannot be accurately measured with current tools, and that this opacity threatens to stop the AI ​​agents revolution.

“AI agents who commit to becoming autonomous digital workers need to restructure their entire economic framework on how to price, track and monetize digital labor from scratch,” Schmidt said. “The traditional SaaS pricing model simply doesn't work with AI agents.”

Pay's solution has helped current customers gain fair value compared to AI agents' performance and accelerate their deployment, Schmidt said in a post.

Paid announced its release in March. At that point, they raised about $10.8 million to expand the financial infrastructure that AI agent builders help pay.
