new york, April 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Combining RF-based detection and AI video intelligence is like giving your system two different senses instead of relying on just one. RF can pick up motion and signals even when it is difficult for the camera to operate, such as in the dark, through walls, or in bad weather. At the same time, AI video is great at actually seeing what’s going on, such as identifying people, vehicles, and unusual behavior. Combining the two provides a clearer and more reliable picture of the environment. This is exactly why this approach is gaining attention in security and smart surveillance systems. Companies active in AI/military/defense activities that have published recent news include: Vision Wave Holdings Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ:VWAV), NXP Semiconductors NV (NASDAQ:NXPI), lockheed martin (NYSE: LMT), RTX Co., Ltd. (NYSE: RTX), L3 Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX).

What makes this combo particularly stand out is how the two technologies back each other up. Even if the camera feed is obscured or blocked, RF can detect that something is happening. Also, if RF flags a signal, a video system can help you see if it’s actually something important or just background noise. This interaction reduces false alarms and increases overall system reliability. This is extremely important in locations such as airports, urban infrastructure, and high security facilities. This is essentially a smarter, more layered way to monitor real-world situations.

The timing couldn’t be better, as the market for this type of technology is growing rapidly. The global AI video analytics field alone is already worth around $12-15 billion today, and is expected to jump to around $34-38 billion by 2030, with long-term forecasts for it to be even higher. By 2033, some forecasts say it will exceed $70 billion, growing more than 20% annually. The opportunities are even greater when considering RF sensing as part of a broader multi-sensor system. So what we’re seeing now isn’t just a cool combination of technologies, it’s quickly becoming a major growth area driven by the demand for smarter, more reliable, and more predictive monitoring solutions.

VisionWave (NASDAQ: VWAV) acquires xClibre™ AI video intelligence IP assets – Adds a visual recognition layer to complement RF sensing across defense platforms VisionWave Holdings Inc. ($VWAV) (“VisionWave” or the “Company”), a defense and advanced sensing technology company, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the intellectual property assets underlying the xClibre™ AI video intelligence platform pursuant to a definitive asset purchase agreement dated April 10, 2026. The acquired IP was independently valued by BDO Consulting Group at approximately $60 million as of April 10. 2026.

This acquisition is aimed at filling a critical capability gap in VisionWave’s sensing architecture. Until now, the company’s platform relied primarily on RF-based detection. xClibre adds a visual recognition layer that is expected to complement the company’s existing RF-based detection capabilities.

Trading conditions – VisionWave acquired 100% of xClibre’s intellectual property portfolio, including its AI-driven video analytics software, proprietary algorithms and models, and associated trade secrets and development frameworks. Overall considerations include:

  • 7,000,000 shares of VisionWave common stock (3,500,000 shares to be issued at closing, 3,500,000 shares subject to successful proof-of-concept testing and approval by Nasdaq stockholders pursuant to Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635)
  • $6 million promissory note

The Company intends to transfer the acquired IP to a dedicated subsidiary, xClibre Inc., to build a focused commercial vehicle for development and market launch execution.

Why this acquisition matters – Modern defense and security environments require sensing systems that can detect, identify, and act, not just warn. RF-based systems excel at wide-area detection, but visual confirmation is often required to confidently authorize an autonomous or human response.

xClibre is designed as a “video as a sensor” platform that transforms your existing camera infrastructure into a real-time AI intelligence layer that can:

  • Automated threat detection and alerting with behavioral analysis
  • Rapid forensic search to accelerate post-incident investigations
  • Visual verification of RF-detected contacts can reduce false-positive response rates
  • Event-driven action pipeline that connects detections to autonomous system responses

The platform is built on an edge-first architecture, processing data locally through dedicated computing appliances without relying on the cloud. This design is intended to enable deployment in bandwidth-constrained forwarding environments and ensure compliance with data sovereignty requirements.

VisionWave platform-wide integration – VisionWave intends to pursue integration of xClibre across the entire defense stack, subject to successful technical validation and proof of concept results, with a near-term focus on:

  • argus Anti-UAS Platforms — Visual Confirmation Layer for RF-Identified Airborne Threats
  • Autonomous Intercept System – Enhanced target classification to support clearance to engage
  • Unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) — onboard visual situational awareness
  • Fixed Site Security Deployment – Perimeter Intelligence with Forensic Replay

Integration will be via API and SDK into VisionWave’s existing command and control and autonomy pipeline, subject to further technical efforts and successful POC results. We believe that a heterogeneous sensing architecture that combines RF sensing and AI video analysis has the potential to achieve significantly higher reliability than single-modality alternatives. continuation… To read the full VWAV release and additional news, please visit: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/VWAV/news/
