Dear Colleagues,
Generative AI will transform our industry, accelerate our growth strategy, and enable us to do more, better, for our clients. As we strengthen our focus on AI, I am pleased to announce the following: Jane Barrett has been appointed Head of Reuters AI Strategy, effective today 1 July 2024. She will report to me. In her new role, Jane will define the AI adoption strategy across the organisation and lead the execution of AI initiatives across Reuters, working closely with Reuters executive leadership and respective functional teams.
Jane will be responsible for developing the strategy and overall plan for AI initiatives that will enhance our content creation, distribution and personalization. Jane will chair a cross-functional committee that defines and executes our AI strategy for the benefit of our customers. In the coming weeks, we will share more details about our governance structure. Jane will join my strategy and operations leadership team and will work closely with editorial leadership on the AI newsroom POC.
