Raises $7 million for AI video intelligence platform

Conntour, an AI video intelligence platform company, announced the launch of its business with a $7 million seed funding round backed by General Catalyst, Y Combinator, SV Angel, Liquid 2 Ventures and others.

The Miami and Tel Aviv-based company has developed a platform that allows security teams to search video feeds using natural language, eliminating the need for predefined categories and rules. Users can query footage that includes descriptions of specific physical attributes, objects, actions, etc., allowing for more flexible and accurate identification in both live and archived video.

Conntour’s systems operate completely on-premises and are designed to work with any camera infrastructure of any size. The platform leverages proprietary computer vision technology to interpret complex real-world scenarios, enabling both real-time threat detection and rapid forensic investigations.

Traditional video analytics systems rely on predefined parameter-based rules, which can lead to missed events, high false alarm rates, and time-consuming manual reviews. Conntour aims to address these limitations by enabling open-ended, context-aware search that adapts to dynamic environments.

The company reports that its platform significantly improves security operations by enabling a single operator to monitor thousands of cameras, reducing manual video review time by up to 90 percent, reducing missed events by up to 80 percent, and reducing false alarm rates by up to 70 percent.

Conntour has already been deployed to homeland security operations in Singapore and is part of the first group of Palantir startup fellowships. The founding team brings experience from intelligence agencies and high-tech companies to inform the design of the platform for high-stakes security environments.

“Traditional video surveillance requires operators to define exactly what they are looking for before they know what they need to find. Existing solutions can only detect a predefined set of parameters, such as a weapon or car make. Real-world security doesn’t work in neat categories. Our platform provides search engine-level intelligence to any camera network, so security teams can respond to threats during incident development and investigation in minutes, not days.”

Mattan Goldner, Contour CEO

“Our challenge in the intelligence community has not been a lack of video sources, but rather the difficulty of extracting what actually matters from the large amounts of data that video sources generate. Conntour is the only platform I’ve seen that allows people to really ask questions in plain English, with complete flexibility based on dynamic and evolving operational needs.”

Bob Flores, former CIA Chief Technology Officer and Contour Advisor

“What sets Conntour apart is the founders’ deep, first-hand understanding of how security teams actually operate. Our co-founders have been tackling this problem in high-stakes environments, and that experience shows in both their product and the speed with which they’ve earned the trust of government and enterprise partners. We’re proud to help them transform the way organizations search for and act on video intelligence.”
