This is a new AI-powered chat feature that helps individuals analyze, understand, and act on Quest test results with their healthcare providers.
Now available to all adult users of the company’s secure and free patient mobile app and portal MyQuest, individuals can submit test result questions to Quest AI Companion and immediately receive personalized, easy-to-understand explanations without leaving the integrated HIPAA-compliant MyQuest solution.

This new tool is unique in that it seamlessly accesses and analyzes up to five years of an individual’s test data from Quest Results Reports to identify trends and patterns that may indicate health risks. Quest AI Companion operates within the secure MyQuest platform, eliminating the need for individuals to manually enter test results into public AI tools, avoiding concerns that arise when sharing private health data with publicly accessible AI technology. Additionally, users can instruct the tool to define test names and medical terminology from the results report, as well as translate the meaning of test values such as high, low, and within reference range. Users can also have an AI companion help formulate questions for their healthcare provider, allowing patients to have more informed conversations with their clinicians.
Although the use of AI technology is increasing across the healthcare industry, recent reports suggest that most individuals are not accessing Gen AI apps to analyze their personal health data. In a survey conducted by Quest on the use of AI, participants cited privacy and data security as concerns about the use of AI, along with accuracy and reliability.
