Twitter has suspended the account of the popular artificial intelligence-powered bot “Explain This Bob” linked to memecoins after Elon Musk claimed it was a “fraudulent crypto account.”
Musk Suspect It appears that this account was fraudulent in a tweet reply to the bot on June 18th and was suspended shortly thereafter.
“Explain This Bob” Account reportedly It had amassed over 400,000 followers before it was suspended. The bot was created by his Prabhu Biswal from India and used his GPT-4 model in OpenAI to understand and provide responses to tweets of users who tagged their accounts.
The project was also linked to the ERC-20 memecoin Bob Token (BOB), which was launched in April 2023. According to CoinGecko, the outage caused the price of BOB to drop by more than 30%.
The suspension reversed previous impressions of Musk’s bot, who tweeted “I love Bob” in response to one of the bot’s tweets on April 20, which was posted on the project’s website. However, it is widely discussed.
However, Twitter has taken no action against Bob Token’s account. The project team responded humorously to the news of the suspension, sharing a meme of a mask watching over a distraught “Bob” in prison.
Observers said Mr. Musk opinion “Explain This Bob” is used as a marketing strategy to increase the price of BOB.

Since the suspension, the hashtag “FREEBOB” has spread on Crypto Twitter. Most observers believe that BOB is not a scam coin and the suspension was unjustified because BOB was “fully decentralized” with his 0% tax mechanism plus the token launch was “fair”. I am of the view that there is.
Another claimed that the team did not offer any tokens or airdrops prior to the Bob token launch in April.
Biswal and Twitter did not immediately respond to Cointelegraph’s request for comment.
