New Delhi:
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted a new video to his official X account in which a ring on his finger appears to disappear when he moves his arm.
“Breaking News: Why does Prime Minister Netanyahu’s ring disappear when he moves his arm…is this also AI??” one person wrote to X.
This video has reignited the debate over whether it is real or generated by artificial intelligence. The video shows Netanyahu casually walking outside and interacting with civilians in Jerusalem. The release comes as rumors about his death continue to spread on social media.
The video, posted on the prime minister’s official X handle, appears to be aimed at countering speculation about his death that has been widely circulated in recent days. Rumors of the deaths spread quickly online amid Iranian retaliation as the joint U.S. and Israeli offensive against Iran that began on February 28 continues and the conflict widens across the Gulf region.
New footage shows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu interacting with Israeli civilians as the country continues to face tensions related to its ongoing war with Iran. Questions about Prime Minister Netanyahu’s safety and the authenticity of videos featuring him began circulating online last week.
Footage from the press conference showed the Israeli leader holding up six fingers on one hand, prompting claims on social media that the footage was generated using artificial intelligence.
“How beautiful. Thank you so much. Thank you. Good. Let’s sunbathe,” Netanyahu said in the latest video shared on his official account.
One day he noticed a dog and asked, “Whose dog is this? What breed is it?” The woman answered, “A Canaanite, an Israelite.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu continues to chat with people around him. “Well done, Canaanite Israelite. It’s good for her to go out a little. It’s good for all of you. Did you go outside for some air?” he asked. “Of course, as long as there is a protected space nearby,” he added.
Before releasing this latest video, Prime Minister Netanyahu had already denied rumors about his death circulating on social media. On Sunday, he posted a clip of himself ordering coffee at a cafe in Jerusalem.
In the video, he joked about the rumors. “I’m dying…for coffee,” he said.
In the video, Prime Minister Netanyahu also raises his hands and shows the camera his fingers, saying: “Would you like to count my fingers? You can see them here…and here. See? That’s very nice.”
The gesture appeared to be in response to claims online that one of the “AI-generated” clips showed him holding six fingers.
This is because tensions remain high in the region. The conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran has entered its 17th day. The fighting intensified after Israel and the United States launched a joint attack on Iran last month.
