What happened at BM Habitat Mall?
According to X's post Express Bengaluru, “Sunil, a Fnusur Tarq engineer who worked at the mall, and Chandol, 25, a Mislu resident, died Monday evening after falling from a four-storey shopping mall in Myslu during an ad committee removal operation.”
This confirms that it was an accidental fall during maintenance work, not a collapse of the escalator.
Reports from local media
Kannada outlets such as Prajavani and Udayakala also reported deaths occurred during the removal of the boards and did not mention the collapse of the escalator. Their reports support the false claims of the virus.
