Prime Minister Netanyahu’s height in Mike Huckabee’s “Proof of Life” video sparks AI controversy again. “Is he tall?”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday posted a video with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee that is being seen as new “living proof” amid rumors that Netanyahu was killed in an Iranian airstrike.

Prior to this, Prime Minister Netanyahu had released two similar videos. The first victim, Sunday, was seen buying coffee at a coffee shop in Jerusalem. A second video released on Monday shows him interacting with residents in Jerusalem.

However, like the previous two videos, users on social media claimed that Huckabee’s video was generated by AI. Previously, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s fingers and rings were the focus of the AI’s claims, but this time his height was the focus.

According to official records, Mike Huckabee is 5 feet 10 inches tall, while Prime Minister Netanyahu is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. But social media users claim Netanyahu appears taller than Huckabee in the video, which they say is due to distortions commonly seen in footage generated using artificial intelligence.

“This version of Netanyahu is several inches taller. How does an adult grow taller in two weeks?” one user wrote on Huckabee’s X post.

“Huckabee is 5-foot-11 and Netanyahu is 5-foot-9 1/2, but Netanyahu looks the same or even taller here,” another person wrote.

“Why does Prime Minister Netanyahu look 10 centimeters taller than me even though we are supposed to be the same height?” added another.

Similarly, in another video from Jerusalem, a user claimed the 76-year-old’s ring was disappearing, suggesting it may have been caused by AI.

However, there is currently no clear evidence that the video was generated by AI.
