Mangaluru: YouTuber MD Sameer appeared before the Bertangadi Police Station Investigator (IO) in connection with accusations against him in relation to online content regarding the Dharmastara mass burial case on Sunday. Dharmasthala police have registered a lawsuit against him allegedly caused public outrage by spreading false information through AI-generated videos related to the ongoing Dharmasthala Mass Burial Case.Samia arrives at Bertangadi Police Station with his supporters. During the interrogation, inspector Nagesh Kadri asked him a series of questions about the registered cases. The lawsuit was registered with the Dalmassara Police Station in view of the issues of law and order, but was allowed to appear at IO at Bertangadi station.According to Dakshina Kannada police, the video, reportedly generated using AI, contains details manufactured beyond what was provided by the complainant's witness in official complaints and court proceedings. Cases of Sections 192 (must be provoked with the intent to cause a riot), 240 (giving false information in honor of committed crimes), and 353(1)(b) (statement to endure public mischief) have been registered against YouTubers at Dharmastara Police Station. Additionally, he was given a notice in search of his appearance before IO.Sameer received predicted bail from the Principal District and Session Court of Dakshina Kannada on August 21st. The court granted bail on the execution of a personal debt of Rs 75,000. Conditions include that he has not committed any similar crimes, must not be excluded, and must not tamper with the prosecutor's witness through threats, guidance, or otherwise. He must also make himself available to IO and cooperate with the investigation whenever he needs his presence.
