Pipe launches four AI agents to streamline small and medium-sized enterprise funds

AI For Business

Pipe has announced the introduction of four artificial intelligence agents aimed at automating key operational tasks with the aim of improving efficiency and supporting the company's international expansion.

Operational automation

FinTech companies that provide embedded capital products to small and medium-sized businesses deployed these AI agents to address specific operational challenges related to fraud and compliance, capital payment management, customer engagement and financial operations. With these systems in place, they form part of the pipe plan to scale efficiently without significantly increasing personnel.

The company is currently experiencing strong growth on its platform, and is boarding new technology partners while preparing to enter additional markets. Pipe expects the new AI-driven architecture to help deliver financial solutions tailored to the needs of small businesses, helping to create value for both customers and employees.

According to Pipe, the new system is already beginning to cut down on operational time frames, with processes that previously took several weeks complete in near real time. This increased speed was designed to allow platform partners to bring solutions to market faster, allowing SMEs to access capital more quickly and efficiently.

Four AI agents

The four agents introduced by Pipe each focus on specific aspects of the company's operations.

  • Fraud and Compliance Agent: The agent aims to accelerate decision-making if further review is required for capital applications. Analyze your business data to distinguish between manual errors and actual risks of compliance or fraud. Pipe expects “up to 90% of SMB capital applicants will receive an application decision within minutes.”
  • Recovery Agent: The agent is designed to manage the process of resuming payments in small businesses that have experienced a failed debit. By investigating the status of both business and payment processors, we help your payment team decide on the most appropriate course of action.
  • Sales Agent: The agent provides ongoing support to small businesses across time zones, helping applicants to complete capital requests and re-engage with those who have abandoned the process. Pipe describes this as a way to enhance user friendliness and customer engagement.
  • Finance Agent: The agent analyzes global cash positions and develops recommendations for investment decisions, capital capacity, and risk limiting. The aim is to translate traditionally time-consuming financial operations into infiltrating insights and help redeploy surplus cash to small businesses around the world.

Company perspective

“At Pipe, we focus on using AI, we drive better experience and financial solutions for small businesses that can actually access capital through partners and platforms.” “All the agents we have built are to exchange manual processes and please small businesses with new positive experiences. The goal is simple: move faster, expand smarter, and create the best financial solutions for the small businesses that need the most.”

Started in 2023, Pipe's Capital Platform utilizes live revenue and transactional data to evaluate and determine offers. This approach relies on algorithmic underwriting rather than relying on credit scores or personal guarantees. The company simulates hundreds of scenarios to optimize approval rates and funding amounts, reporting that 98% of pre-approved companies will receive the promised funds.

Each feature within the platform is developed with the aim of reducing time to assess and remove friction and is embedded in software platforms already used by small and medium-sized businesses. Pipe describes the introduction of new AI agents extending automation from underwriting to services, insights and more aggressive financial support.

The launch of these AI agents follows Pipe's recent acquisition of Glean.AI, and is consistent with its broad objective of providing small and medium-sized businesses around the world with access to financial solutions that are previously only available to large companies. These offers include capital, credit card, spending management solutions, payment experience, and AI-driven spending insights.

“Pipes focus on being AI-first fintech. Rather than layering AI over old workflows, we have built a core infrastructure to automate underwriting, payments and compliance from the ground up,” Rakipovic said. “As each agent ships, we're taking weeks of OPS into seconds, accelerating 10x scales and providing better experience for small businesses with more productive and efficient internal teams.”
