One of Apple's top AI executives reportedly leaves the company

AI For Business

According to Bloomberg, Apple has lost one of its top AI minds.

Robby Walker, senior director of Apple's response, information and knowledge team since the beginning of this year, is set to leave the tech giant next month. Walker previously worked with SIRI before moving on to AI development. This adds to the fact that Bloomberg reported that Apple was defeated by other high-level AI employees to Meta in July.

The report does not provide a clear reason why Walker or other employees left the company, but does not draw a completely positive picture of Apple's AI development from the outside. One very noteworthy example is that Google's Gemini Live Naturalistic Chatbot has been up and running for a while.

Masculine light speed

It's still unclear whether everything in this AI business is waiting for the bubble to explode or really to stay here, but at a pace where Apple is running, it might give the impression that the company is betting on the former.
