Artificial intelligence is rebuilding the world at a fierce speed, and Ohio State University is at the forefront of this transformation with the launch of AI(x) Ohio State's hub, or AI, is directed at the power of X. This university-wide hub spans 15 universities and unlocks the exponential possibilities that emerge when AI merges with the expertise of six strategic pillars (X).
The launch followed the status of Walter “Ted” Carter Jr.'s university address earlier this month, and announced details of education for the Citizenship 2035 Strategic Plan. AI leadership is an important pillar of Carter's plan and is part of his vision for the university to achieve a new level of academic excellence.
“Due to the launch of AI(x) Ohio's hubs aren't just about embracing the future. We're creating it. The hub will be the catalyst for groundbreaking research and transformative innovation in artificial intelligence.
ai(x) Hub It has advanced tools and extensions for researchers to drive innovation and accelerate discovery. Specifically, it is designed as follows:
- Building AI Brain Trust: Create cutting-edge research spaces – A dynamic intellectual hub where domain experts and AI scientists solve complex problems and stimulate shocking innovation.
- Provide a scalable shared infrastructure: Develop robust data/model commons integrated with cutting-edge computing clusters to democratize access to high-performance computing and curated datasets, making rapid advances in all fields, from medicine, science, engineering, social sciences, and humanities.
- A vibrant AI ecosystem: accelerate collaboration with researchers, entrepreneurs and industry leaders, streamlining the path from discovery to deployment, bringing ideas from the lab into the real world.
